Project Description
Project: Leidos
Address: 4110 Campus Point Court San Diego, CA 92121
Date: October 2024
Title: Third Party Test
Owner: Alexandria Real Estate Christopher Clement
Daswave was asked to perform the required Third Party Inspection for the ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement System) per CFC (California Fire Code) section 510.4.11 through 510.4.1.3 and SDFD bulletin dated 9/22/2023 for design, installation and testing.
This project was for a five-story building where Leidos built for office space and lab testing. The top three floors were open office space with private offices, cubicles and conference rooms. The bottom two floors were for lab testing for Leidos military sector of their business. The bottom two floors were heavy with RF shielding per military security standard, SCIF (sensitive compartmented information facility) contracting requirements.
The 700 MHz system used a Westell 700 MHz BDA with Battery Backup Unit (BBU). This project involved performing a 20-grid test on each floor to ensure adequate signal was being delivered as designed.
We are tasked with ensuring acceptable signal is present on each of the 20 grids tested per floor to ensure first responder handheld radios will work inside the building when responding to an incident. This is critical communication to aid in saving lives.
This building passed the inspection and is ready for occupancy.
